This past week on my drive in to work there was A LOT of traffic. The worst way to start off the day        -____-

On Friday morning’s drive however, I sat on one stretch of road for about 15-20 minutes. All the cars were just inching along. I thought gosh, there must be a big crash or major construction going on. Something big and bad must have occurred for today to be so much busier than all the other days. Well, to my shock and aggravation, THERE WAS NO REASON FOR THE TRAFFIC!!  You guys can only imagine my frustration. I mean, I was ticked off. All that stopping and going, all that sitting, all that struggling and frustration thinking that something was blocking ahead. All of that for no reason at all. Literally, all the cars merged onto their desired lanes and it was clear smooth sailing.

As I continued my drive trying to calm down, I heard God begin to explain to me the traffic of life. He said that we create so much unnecessary traffic in our lives. We worry, have anxiety and have fear in our lives that we sit in. We literally lull around in our created troubles and complain about it. I can sooooo imagine God’s face like -____- really, look ahead man, keep going…. I’ve cleared YOUR entire lane just for YOU. If we can just focus on God and follow his direction we can get through the so called traffic of our lives. God even gives specific instructions not to worry, not to have anxiety and not to fear.

  • Matthew 6:25-34
  • Philippians 4:6
  • Psalm 23:4 (a million more)

I’m sure ya’ll have used a GPS before. Well would you download or buy a GPS turn it on to guide you and then ignore it. When it tells you that there is a detour ahead, to avoid this path because it is a dead end,to keep right at the fork, or to expect a delay, etc It would be stupid of you to ignore it. So why, why oh why, do we ignore God’s direction? Why do we go to him for directions and then TELL HIM which way is “best”??? Now, doesn’t that sound nuts?!

As a matter of fact, many of us find time to create traffic in our own lives because we are not 1. staying in our own lanes and 2. following God’s directions or aligning with the will of God. I think one of the most famous scriptures is Jeremiah 29:11 which says; “ For I know the plans that I have for you, declares the Lord. Plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” God has specific plans for YOU. He has a lane just for you. Jeremiah 1:5 also says ” Before I formed you in your mother’s womb, before you were born, I set you apart, I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” See before he formed you and breathed life into you, God mapped out your specific path. But for some reason we allow the noise and cares of this world to get into our lives and cause traffic in our lanes.

When we align ourselves with the will of God, we have trust, patience and wisdom. These three things are EVERYTHING to the Christian life. Trust that God really knows it all and that he is the same God of Jer 29:11 today. Patience allows for the moments we do spend in difficult times and situations not to seem so tough. You know what I just realized, the Word tells us that God will not give us more than we can bare (1 Cor 10:13). But quite often, our lack of patience clouds our way. It makes a short situation seem so long, miserable and never ending. 5 mins looks and feels like 5 months. Wisdom keeps you focused on the will of God. Wisdom helps you to avoid many of those “traffic spots” in life.

God tends to hit me deep in the most random-est moments. LOL even in writing this post. I was just chillin and God was like go write what I told you. He’s the head of my life so obedience is a must. Plus, I learned already what disobeying God leads to so… I’m I’ll do my best to always listen the first time he gives me direction. I pray you all were blessed and I pray you have a great week ahead. If you happen to be sitting in traffic at some point, whether it’s for an actual reason or just people being slow to align themselves, remember God is in control. Then, now and forevermore.

Love ya to Peace,

Faith. Loves
